Post date: May 12, 2011 7:11:23 PM

The Hay River Transition Initiative will be offering a fly tying class Saturday, June 25, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM.  Location in Prairie Farm to be announced.  Class size will be limited.  The instructor will be Sam Gearing, a former fly fishing guide in Colorado, who now lives in Menomonie.  Sam has tied flies for many years and will provide all equipment and supplies needed for each participant in the class to create a unique tied fly.  Depending on interest expressed by the class, or by others in the community, Sam will teach a fly fishing seminar later in the season. Learn to fish.  That is a transition skill for procuring your own food. The cost will be $5.00 per person.  Each participant will go home with at least one self-tied fly!  Then it will be time to go fishin'.
